Christmas Lights in Oberlin

The other day I was doing some last minute Christmas shopping in Oberlin and while I was there decided to snap a few pictures. Once again I apologize for the low light graininess. I did my best to filter and clean them up.

Wakeman, Ohio

Wakeman is a really neat little Village located on the northeast end of Huron County. It has an expansive history and I can honestly say I don't know much about it other than it was once a large railroad town and that an offshoot of the Lake Shore Electric Railway ran through it. So until I find some good history on the place here are a few shots I grabbed on the way home from a Christmas party.

The Sleepy Village of Bay View

I had some time to kill today while our condo was being shown and I haven't done a post in awhile, so Minnie and I went exploring.

If you follow Route 6 west through Vermilion, Huron, and then Sandusky you will be forced to veer south and connect with State Route 2, the infamous byway that has turned many lakefront areas into ghost towns. But, if you continue driving straight on Barrett Road you eventually come to a village that you may have never known to exist, Bay View.

Barret Road. Surrounded by Lake Erie and swampland.

Our New Home

Well, we had the news for a while now, but we didn't want to post anything until everything was for certain. Now it is. Sarah and I (and of course Minnie) are proud new home owners. We are moving to the city of Elyria on January 16th. This will be a big change for our small family. The first of many I would assume. So without further ado, here is our new home!

Thanks for looking!

Crocker Park Tree Lighting

Every year in Crocker Park in Westlake there is a Christmas tree lighting ceremony. This is the first time we have attended and it was cold, rainy and windy, but still an enjoyable experience. Here are a couple of pictures from that evening.

LCL is Two Years Old!

It actually happened about a week ago, but Lorain County Life is now two years old! I would like to thank everyone for reading and for commenting on my ramblings over the past two years and I hope to continue posting long into the future. At least until I am old and can't understand these fandangled computers anymore.

So in honor of this momentous occasion I will post some of my favorite pictures taken during year two of Lorain County Life. Time to hit the rewind!

Autumn at Oakhill

The colors around the Beaver Creek area in Lorain and Amherst never cease to amaze me when it becomes fall. The other morning was no exception as I stepped out and snapped a few shots around the condo.
