Daylight and Heat Draw to a Close

One of the problems with working night shift is that by the time November comes around you rarely see sunlight. It's like living in Alaska. It also gets cold in Northeast Ohio around this time, especially when you live on one of the Great Lakes. So the last couple of days I have been savoring the light and the heat before it is all gone by riding my bicycle, one of my favorite past times (as you all are aware).

One of my favorite spots to end the ride (even though I'm not supposed to be there...).

Niagara Falls (Part 4)

It was the last day of our trip and breakfast was amazing once again (even though I didn't get a picture of it). This time at breakfast we sat with 6 others who's names I do not recall (bad with names). Two of them were from Quebec. We sat there for a while enthralled in conversation about the differences between our nations. It was a fascinating experience; but enough with that! On with our last day!

 Sunday

Our first stop was actually an impromptu time-killer at the Niagara River Whirlpool. When I was a kid my family took a jet boat through the rapids and around the whirlpool. This phenomenon occurs where the river takes a 90 degree turn and causes the water to spin.

If you are brave you can ride this suspended "spanish car" over the river...we were not.

Niagara Falls (Part 3)

After finally getting back over the border (and using the restroom) we parked and walked over to the Canadian (or Horseshoe) Falls.

Saturday (still)

Old power station up river from the falls.

Niagara Falls (Part 2)

On the second day in Ontario we got up around 8:30 am (too early) and proceeded downstairs for breakfast, which was amazing and three courses long!

Saturday

Fancy fancy.

Niagara Falls (Part 1)

This year we were unable to take a week long vacation like we normally do, so we decided to go somewhere close by that we have been meaning to visit for a while now, Niagara Falls. Both Sarah and I visited the falls with our families as kids, but wanted to revisit the site now as adults. So one Thursday night we dropped Minnie off at my parent's house and on Friday morning we were off to Canada.

Friday

We'll be needing these...
