[EXPLORE] Lorain International Festival

Yesterday we had a couple of hours to kill before going over to Sarah's Aunt's house for her grandfather's 80th birthday party so we decided to head down to the Lorain International Festival. The festival has been taking place for 49 years now and represents the 70 different nationalities that reside in Lorain, the International City. Every year they place a spotlight on a different nationality and this year it was African American. Here are some pictures from the festival.

[EXPLORE] The Duct Tape Festival

The Avon Duct Tape Festival is one of the largest festivals in Lorain County. It attracts around 50,000 people every year. Avon is home to the world headquarters of Duck brand duct tape and for the past 12 years they have held the festival. There even is a college scholarship for Avon High School students that create the best prom dress out of duct tape every year.

I had never visited the festival before so my wife and I decided to head on out. Here are some pictures...

[EXPLORE] Cincinnati (Part 3)

Our adventure concluded with an impromptu visit to the Newport, Kentucky Italian Festival. The venue for the festival ran along the riverside and overlooked downtown Cincinnati. It was a really cool location and event.

[EXPLORE] Cincinnati (Part 2)

Picking up where we left off. After the zoo we proceeded to our next and seemingly final stop on our trip. We attended a dinner cruise on the Cincinnati Belle, a riverboat located on the Kentucky side of the Ohio River in hopping city of Newport.. Here are the pictures from the boat.

[EXPLORE] Cincinnati (Part 1)

So as a surprise to my wife for our anniversary (since we couldn't do much on the actual day) I took her down to Cincinnati to explore the zoo and go on a dinner river cruise. It was a really good time despite the 4 hour drive home in severe weather. Here are a boatload of pictures from our adventure in the "Queen City". This will be broken up into two parts, because I took a lot of pictures.

The Cincinnati Zoo

The Cincinnati Zoo is the second oldest zoo in the United States and has a very unique design. Since it is so hilly in the city the zoo literally sits on top of itself and is situated in the middle of an urban neighborhood.

On the way down.

[EXPLORE] Huron Lakefront Ride

The other day I had a couple of hours to kill before going out to dinner with the Mrs., so I decided to go for a ride down Route 6 west toward Huron. These are a few pictures that I got from the Huron lakefront area.

Wedding Anniversary at Pier W

What better topic for my 100th post? On Tuesday Sarah and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary. After scouring the local area for the perfect place to take her I had finally found it, and it appeared to be a hit.

[EXPLORE] Vermilion Public Restrooms

Yes, you read the title right, and yes this ties in to both exploring and a 911 story. Before we get into the two stories I have regarding the restrooms, here is the current picture.

Lovely.
Now lets take a look at the same building in the 1950's...
