Sometimes you get so wrapped up in your work or other projects that you forget to still have fun every once in a while. My wife and I try to get out and have fun as much as possible, but sometimes it just can't happen, whether due to working opposite shifts or just the amount of work period. This weekend was my friend Bobby's wedding, and even though it was their big day it was also a break for us from the monotony of every day life.

Weddings are fun because they are (usually) happy. You know for the most part what you are going to get at a wedding. The ceremony is for the bride and groom (obviously), then there is dinner, cake, bountiful amounts of alcohol, and dancing. It is a joyous occasion for both the people involved and the witnesses. The bride and groom are starting the next chapter in their lives together and everyone else is at an awesome party.
But most of all weddings are almost surreal. Perhaps it is because they have a feeling of much simpler times. People get together in the real world and pull themselves away from their computer screens and virtual interaction (as I sit here and type a blog).
So even though weddings are for the bride and groom, they are also for the people there to celebrate with them. They come together as a group and set aside differences for the benefit of others. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone was like that everyday?
Oh well, back to work!
