Tennessee (Part 4)
On our final day in Tennessee we had a couple of events lined up and then (sadly) it would be time to head back home. Our first stop of the day was to the "Goats on the Roof" Alpine Coaster. Yes, you heard me right, goats.
There are goats on the roof! The story goes that the original owner of the property had a home that had a grass roof. As a prank the neighbors placed goats upon the roof and the name has stuck ever since.
The goats can even walk across the bridge to a small goat house.
Almost there!
That is Sarah off yonder! I was unable to film going down the hill for fear of losing my phone in the woods.
After the ride we checked out the shop. On the second floor this guy was there to greet us. Guess what? He's on the roof...
After our mountain roller coaster we went to the Titanic Museum, which I think we can both agree far exceeded our expectations.
Upon entering the museum we were each given a name of a passenger and at the end we could see if we survived. Sarah survived....I did not, but I was rich!
The violin Wallace Hartley played as the ship sank. A private collector recently purchased it for over 1 million dollars and it was about to go into his vault forever.
Close up on the violin.
Before we headed home we checked out a few more shops in the area known as the "Craft Loop".
We then got dinner and began our long journey home. On the way we saw numerous fireworks displays (being that it was Fourth of July weekend) and we also ran into a few storms. We got in around 3am. It was a great trip and a departure from the trips we normally go on. Someday this will be a great place to take our children, but until then more adventures await!
