Amish Country (Part 3)

Saturday Night

After surviving the snowy tundra that was Amish Country, we retreated back to our warm cabin in the trees. We spent the night watching movies and playing games. Later in the evening we cooked some more. This time it was a hodgepodge of brats, cheese, jerky, summer sausage, and queso dip.

Me and my finished brat!
After our night of frivolity we got some much needed shut eye and in the morning we awoke to even more snow on the ground.

Sunday

Today was the last day of our short lived vacation. We gathered up all of our things and said goodbye to our tree house, but not before leaving a message in the notebook, including a hint to where our dollar we left was located.

Morning snow.
The forest.
We made our way into Millersburg, the next city over and then after that I found a road that headed north and drove until I recognized something.

Entering Millersburg.
Downtown Millersburg.
Another shot of downtown.
It was a very good trip, something we will definitely be doing again, probably in the summer months. We ate good food and learned about the culture of the Amish, which in its simple way is pretty awesome. They work together as a group, not as individuals, and they never place themselves above others. We could learn a thing or two from them.

Farms as we leave.

Thanks for reading.
