The other day I borrowed a coworker's leaf blower and today was the first day it hadn't rained since so I decided to take advantage. The previous owners of our house were gone by the time the leaves dropped last fall and by the time we had moved in it was too cold and snowy to remove them. Well as the snow thawed and the temperatures rose the leafy menace became very apparent. They were everywhere. So today I finally got around to removing them and as I did I also snapped some pictures of the foliage beginning to fill in. These pictures are all unedited and taken on my phone so do not judge too harshly.

Our compass stone. |

Our tree in front of the house bloomed. |

Vines are filling back in. |

Not sure exactly what this is, but there is a whole area of it in the lot next to us. |

And these little white flowers. (Can you tell I'm a botanist?) |

The little lighthouse is back outside. |

Hard to mow the grass when the lawn is wet. |

Finished the day off with pork chops on the freshly hooked up gas grill. |

I took this one through the front door a couple days ago. Unfortunately the flag and mount both fell down the day after. |
I find it funny that when I was a kid how much I hated mowing the lawn. My dad would always tell me that it is different when it is your lawn and you see it look better afterward. It is a small accomplishment and I cannot believe I am going to say this, but he was right and I actually do really enjoy mowing the grass and doing yard work. I am getting boring in my old age.
I hope you enjoyed this super exciting post about my yard.
Thanks for reading!
