Our 5 Year Anniversary

It has been 5 years since we were married and yet it seems like just yesterday. Every year on our anniversary we go to a fancy restaurant and get all dressed up, but this year we did something a little different. Let's start at the beginning. Picture it, June 9th, 2013....

Oberlin, Ohio 2013
Our first anniversary in Las Vegas, 2014.
Our second anniversary in Lakewood, 2015.
The restaurant was Pier W.
In 2016 we went to the Blue Point Grille in Cleveland. For some reason I don't appear to have a picture of it. If I find it I will update this post.

On our 4th anniversary in 2017 we went to Ocean City, Maryland. Sarah was super pregnant.
I lied about the fancy dinner thing every year...mmmm
This year we drove to Tremont, a "burough" of Cleveland to try 3 very different places. The first was called Ginko and was a sushi place. Sarah loves sushi and has always wanted to go to a real sushi place, so I googled the top places in Cleveland and this one kept coming up.

It was in the basement and felt like we were walking into a secret place. It was pretty cool.

As you can see it was not a large restaurant.
Whoa. Definitely not in my element, but I tried everything.
Our strange cocktails.
Spicy crab on Pringles...yes, I'm serious and yes they were good.
Sushi!
We were attempting to use the chopsticks provided. Forks were not an option. We weren't very good at it.
This was the first time I ate raw fish. Usually I eat the safe sushi. Not bad.
Next we went to the Velvet Tango Room, a jazz club/speakeasy that dates back to the prohibition era. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but I guess that's the point.
We sat at the bar and I had the best Dark and Stormy ever.
I call this one "Sophistication".
And our final stop of the night was Porko Lounge and Tiki Room. Another place that doesn't look like much on the outside, but is really cool inside.
That is a lot of booze...
We had some.
That is smoke coming out of mine on the right.
The curtains were made out of wine corks.
My glasses kept glaring in the pictures, so here is a rare glimpse of us both without them!
We had a lot of fun, probably one of the better anniversaries. And the best part?

We had a sitter.
Thanks for reading.
