Summertime at the Homestead

After finally completing the majority of our larger projects we needed to accomplish after moving in, we can now enjoy our home. It is fun to see all of the plants blooming in the yard, some of which we didn't even know were there! When we first looked at the house it was already almost winter and all of the plants we dormant. As the plants continue to change and swap out with their seasonal brethren we can now plan on how we will redo the yard next year. Which bushes to get rid of, which flowers to move, and which landscaping to adjust.

Anyway, here are some pictures from around the house this summer.

Got the flag back up finally.

Update on House Projects

The past couple of weeks have been busy at the Davis household. We finally (almost) have finished the kitchen and erected a fire pit in the backyard. Here are some pictures of the progress.

The process of tearing down the wallpaper was tough.

My Birthday Trip to Cleveland

This year for my birthday Sarah surprised me by taking me into Cleveland explore some local history. As everyone is probably well aware, I kind of nerd out over local history so this was a pleasant surprise. We started at the Western Reserve Historical Society in University Circle to view some rare antique cars and aircraft.

Springtime Activities Around the House

The other day I borrowed a coworker's leaf blower and today was the first day it hadn't rained since so I decided to take advantage. The previous owners of our house were gone by the time the leaves dropped last fall and by the time we had moved in it was too cold and snowy to remove them. Well as the snow thawed and the temperatures rose the leafy menace became very apparent. They were everywhere. So today I finally got around to removing them and as I did I also snapped some pictures of the foliage beginning to fill in. These pictures are all unedited and taken on my phone so do not judge too harshly.

Trip to Marblehead with the Pups

After months of working on the house day in and day out it was finally time to get some fresh air. As today was in the mid 60's Sarah and I decided to take the dogs out for a day trip, and what better way to cure the lake withdrawals than to take them to Marblehead. Our first stop was the "Bark Until Dark" Dog Park in Danbury and we had the place all to ourselves.

Easter in Pennsylvania

Sarah's family took a trip to visit her grandparents in Florida this year, so we decided to go with my parents and visit my sister Teresa in Pennsylvania. Teresa lives in a suburb of Pittsburgh called Seven Fields. Here are some pictures from the trip.

Teresa's apartment is the top one closest to the camera, but we'll come back to that.

A Tale of Three Bars

Whelp, it's that time of the year again. It's time for us as Americans to celebrate a very important and historical Irish holiday by doing what we do best...Getting drunk and loud. Sarah and I decided this year to go out for the holiday (I know, I know, but we like to live dangerously). Here are some pictures from our night out and then back in.

Mccrann's

Our fist stop was Mccrann's in Sheffield Township.
