[EXPLORE] Cincinnati (Part 2)

Picking up where we left off. After the zoo we proceeded to our next and seemingly final stop on our trip. We attended a dinner cruise on the Cincinnati Belle, a riverboat located on the Kentucky side of the Ohio River in hopping city of Newport.. Here are the pictures from the boat.

Boarding!
Balloons!

As we left we noticed a festival along the shore that we decided to attend when we returned.
The food was really good and so was my Rivertown brew.
Me and my food destruction.
Sunset.

But as the sun dipped behind the horizon an eerie darkness set in. The ship seen above is now called the U.S.S. Nightmare II and houses a year-long haunted house.. The ship was built in 1933. It was then known as the William S. Mitchell and it was a dredge ship. People believed that the ship became haunted after digging up an ancient Indian burial ground on her maiden voyage. There were reports of strange noises and miscellaneous items turning up missing.  Later it became known as the "Death Dredge" after 112 crew members lost their lives when the mooring lines snapped and the boat careened into the base of a bridge. For more information on the U.S.S. Nightmare II click here. Once the ship was out of view the skies cleared and brightened.

We made our way up to the top deck where a band was playing.
Selfie.
This bridge was built by the same guy that constructed the Brooklyn Bridge.

Same shot as the first picture, but at night.
Riverboat Row flood gate (as pointed out by Sarah).
After we returned from our river cruise we headed over the festival just down the shoreline. As it turns out it was an Italian Festival.

Stay tuned for CIncinnati (Part 3) and thanks for reading!
