Niagara Falls (Part 4)

It was the last day of our trip and breakfast was amazing once again (even though I didn't get a picture of it). This time at breakfast we sat with 6 others who's names I do not recall (bad with names). Two of them were from Quebec. We sat there for a while enthralled in conversation about the differences between our nations. It was a fascinating experience; but enough with that! On with our last day!

 Sunday

Our first stop was actually an impromptu time-killer at the Niagara River Whirlpool. When I was a kid my family took a jet boat through the rapids and around the whirlpool. This phenomenon occurs where the river takes a 90 degree turn and causes the water to spin.

If you are brave you can ride this suspended "spanish car" over the river...we were not.
The Autumn colors shining through again.
We then made our way over the the Butterfly House, one of Sarah's stipulations for the trip. It was actually a really cool experience until I realized I was afraid of butterflies.

Flying insects inside!

The blue one is real.
Sarah's favorite were the bright green ones.
Scary...
After the scary butterflies we killed some more time at the local souvenir store.

Well, that was fun. Time was killed enough for now and we drove to our main destination. Another one of Sarah's choices that I ended up liking in the end...

Yeah, it says "Tea Room".
Cheerio!
The tea was good and so were the tiny sandwiches (except cucumber). Who knew!?
After we had out "High Tea" we made another impromptu trip to where the Niagara River meets Lake Ontario. The small town of Niagara-On-The-Lake is made up of mostly wineries, parks, miscellaneous shops and theatres. The place was in full holiday swing, but first I had to get some petrol.

What is a "leetray"?
Here's Lake Ontario....there goes Lake Ontario.
The town looked like something straight out of the 1800's.

Thanksgiving crowds.
Ever heard of "Tiger Butter"? Me neither, but boy is it good.
...and Sarah's nom nom nom.
Anyone want coffee? If there was an award for number of cafes per block...
A few art galleries as well.
There was something interesting to look at everywhere.

Especially these guys!
And these carriages!
But alas, our time (and daylight) were dwindling. It was time to leave this mythical land known as Canada and return to the United States, specifically Buffalo, New York for dinner.

I was really hungry.
Anchor Bar. Home of the original Buffalo Wing.

Mmmm, and no I did not flip that basket over.
Well, there you have it. Our trip was finally at an end. We only had about 4 more hours until we were home in our bed and we both were able to actually stay awake until then!

As always, thanks for reading!
