Motorcycle Trip to Virginia (Part 2)

On Tuesday we woke up around 10 am and began our journey toward our final destination. But first we hopped on the highway and headed to breakfast at the Daily Grind in Buckhannon, WV, about an hour away.

All packed up and ready to go.
A better view of the house in the day time.

This picture was taken shortly after the house was built in 1963.

Leaving West Union.

Buckhannon, WV.

We checked out this really cool antique store before breakfast.

After an hour, a few purchases and motorcycle talk with the owner we finally headed to breakfast...

....only to realize breakfast was over.

But lunch was really good!

See?

We left Buckhannon a little later then expected, but we were still within our time frame. The remainder of the trip down to Fairfield, VA showcased some of the most amazing roads I have ever driven on.

That skid mark was made while trying to avoid being struck by an oncoming truck and thrown off a mountain.

This face is a reproduction of the face I made during that same incident.

After about 100 more miles and a long gravel driveway (of which we were unaware) we finally made it to our destination in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.

Our home for the next couple of days.

The land owners had all sorts of animals, including these ducks. Meet Huey, Louie, Dewey and Moose.

I got the fire started while Sarah prepared dinner.

After a short trip to Walmart we finally sat down and ate our dinner of cheese, crackers, Lil' Smokies, local beer and wine.

It was the perfect end to the day, but once again the road whooped us and we were exhausted. Shortly after dinner we headed back to the tent and fell into a cheese and sausage coma with a little help from the sound of crickets chirping in the moonlight.

To be continued.
