Trip to Seattle (Part 1)

One of my closest friends Aaron from high school got married last weekend and I was lucky enough to play a part in the ceremony. He asked me to be a groomsman and of course I couldn't refuse, so Sarah and I bought our plane tickets to Seattle, Washington right away.We decided to room with another groomsman and his fiancee, Travis and Elizabeth, whom are also friends of ours.

On Friday around 8am we left our house for the airport. The trip ended up being pretty amazing. I only wish we could have stayed longer than the weekend, but I digress. Join me as we explore Seattle and the Great Northwest!

Ready to go with her no caffeine, froo froo pregnancy tea!

Our first flight was a small airplane from Cleveland to Detroit. The second was a 737 and had these cool flight trackers built into the seats, along with free movies! Leg room was still lacking though.

The Rocky Mountains.

When we landed at SeaTac we were greeted with, you guessed it, rain. Fun fact: Instead of snow the Seattle area gets pretty much nonstop rain and overcast in the winter. Normally the temperatures hover around 50 degrees, but we were graced with temps between 30 and 40, which we were not prepared for.

We took the shuttle from the airport to pick up our rental and Travis and Elizabeth who will be shown later in the post.

After we picked up our rental car we headed to the hotel. We got there later than expected, so Travis and I pretty much had to unload and run. Aaron picked us up and we headed back to his place to begin bachelor party activities, which I will not discuss here ;)

The next day we got up early to get our free breakfast in the lobby (the best breakfast is free breakfast) and then headed out to explore the city, starting with Pike Place Market.

Needless to say it was busy.

Oh, the good smells!

I'm not sure exactly when it started, but you may have seen this event on TV somewhere. The fishmongers throw the customer's orders across the counter while yelling. It is actually pretty cool.

Mid flight.

The Puget Sound (it is nicer than it sounds).

The original Starbucks Coffee with live entertainment. The line was stretched around the corner!

The coffee I got at the place next to Starbucks, because I am a rebel and didn't want to wait an hour in line for coffee that I feel tastes slightly burnt.

After we left Pike Place Market we decided to check out another of Seattle's (touristy) staples, the Space Needle. We didn't have a lot of time in the city and didn't know when we would be back so we did not want to miss the two things that Seattle is known for.

Stay tuned for part 2.
